Your purpose & impact:

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be a key player in the building of a strong Tech team with high-quality output and create a culture of innovation and playfulness. You will, together with the team, own the responsibility for the design and development of new functionality for our eCom platform spanning multiple brands to ensure that our goals and targets are constantly over-achieved and that we remain on track to developing one of the world’s most impactful brand-building organizations, ever.

Some of the things you’ll do:

• Operate the infrastructure we have in place with a focus on high accuracy, reliability and data scalability
• Invent components and tooling together with the rest of the development team to build our eCom platform
• Establish and enact good practices for a safe, scalable, and reliable platform
• Work day-to-day with a broad range of incredibly talented people from product, design, writing, finance, accounting, legal, customer service, and more
  
  

Your skills and experiences:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering and programming expertise in the backend of the stack. We’ve built our backend using Nest.js and TypeScript but who knows what frameworks we’ll use in the future.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in architecture and design work (patterns, reliability, scalability, quality) of complex systems.
• A great team player. You enjoy working in a team, asking questions and accept the knowledge gap as you join.
• An innovator with ideas from diverse areas, such as system design, DevOps, distributed computing, etc.
• An ambitious coder with advanced skills in areas such as concurrency, distributed systems, functional principles and performance optimization.
• A T-shaped engineer which means that your key proficiency is the backend stack but you have the drive to understand how data and frontend development work as well.
• Aware of the importance of CI/CD, and a strong advocate of automated quality assurance.
• Skilled in one or several cloud-based backend technologies. We’re on AWS but if you’ve used something else we’re sure you’ll learn.
• A proponent of microservice architectures and well-specified data APIs.
• Interested in understanding new complex business domains.
• A strong analytical problem solver and comfortable tackling loosely defined problems.
• Experienced in working with an agile development methodology.
